be-taken-seriously-1So you're trying to build your business and your have a wonderful product or service that you are busy telling the world about.

You've done all the courses you can find or can afford and are doing everything the "Marketing Guru's" are telling you to do and for the most part the word is getting out and you're getting visitors to your website, building a little community on your social media pages and your email list is growing slowly... but you see that there's still a huge problem in the process and you're having trouble converting these visitors and connections into paying customers.

So you rack your brain, trying to work out what is missing, how you can fix it and how you can find the money to do more and more advertising and marketing.

Have you ever thought it could be a simple problem that can be fixed?

So many businesses spend all their time and money attracting visitors to their website but don't realise that it's their website that is letting them and their business down.  

I tell my client's all the time, that they need to look at their website like a business shop window... because it is just that!

It's your business' online shop front and should be treated with care and love to make it work for your business and not against it.

Think about this for a minute -

  • When you go shopping and you're faced with shop fronts and windows everywhere, what do you look for?
  • What attracts your attention?
  • What if you were faced with a shop window that wasn't designed well, or didn't look nice, or wasn't attracting your attention...Would you still walk in and buy from that business?

The simple answer is No, your would probably think twice about going inside... You would get the impressionn from that business that they are not what you're looking for, that they probably can't help you and even worse, that they look unprofessional to you.

Have you ever been shopping and not gone into a shop because of how they're shop front/window made you feel?

I know I have... I'm a person who doesn't have allot of time to spend at the shops, and window shopping is a real luxury for me, but if / when I do find the time to do a bit of shopping I know that I personally will not venture into a store that doesn't have an attractive and eye catching front window that attracts me to spend my time and effort to walk through the doors.  And let's face it, there are plenty of other shops out there who do have the right "shop window" that catches my attention and makes me want to go inside and explore the store further.

A great shop front window, should entice passers by to like what they see, then want to venture into your store and hopefully become a paying customer.

Well, it's exactly the same for your business website.  It's one thing to get visitors to your site, but it's another to make them like what they see and then proceed to buy from you.  So your website needs to be designed and setup in such a way that your visitors will be not only attracted to it, but then once they are there they love what they see so much that they want to look around, and are guided gently through your site so they can find what they are looking for and be compelled to buy from you.

But just to be clear and so you don't take what I'm saying in the wrong way... In no way will your website succeed without well planned and creative marketing, you can have the most lovely, well designed website on the planet, but without the marketing in place to share it with the world and attract your targeted visitors to see it, it will be completely useless to you and your business, because you can't sell a secret!

So first things first, get your website looked at by a professional and make sure it's all setup to entice your visitors to convert to paying customers, then work on marketing your website, products and services and you'll see the results of all your hard work start paying off in no time at all.
